John Clappison for Hornsea "Worlds Best Builder" mug

This is another humorous mug designed by John Clappison in the 1960s -1979 for the Yorkshire pottery Hornsea as part of the "World's Best" series.
This one is the "World's Best Builder".
The background colour is dark cream and the blue panel depicts a man with a builder's trowel behind a half built wall whilst his dog watches with a gloomy expression from the window!
The base is marked "Hornsea England" and has the Hornsea double bird mark.
I think that you either love these mugs or hate them (I love them) but there has been a resurgent interest in the designs of John Clappison.
